Net Fence

PRINTABLE PDF FILE

DESCRIPTION

The Net Fence™ is an attractive security device for protecting large, open areas by snaring and immobilizing vehicles. This snaring effect is accomplished in a manner similar to that used on aircraft carriers for halting incoming planes. The Net Fence's™ incredible vehicle-stopping capability is achieved by the use of specially designed high strength lateral members (rails) in conjunction with uniquely constructed posts, anchorages, and cables. The system was designed to stop a 15,000 lb. vehicle traveling at 50 mph (DOS K12 crash rating). The result is a physical perimeter security system that appears to be a typical post and rail fence but that is truly an effective vehicle barrier.

APPLICATIONS

The Net Fence™ was designed for facilities where extensive perimeters must be secured from vehicle intrusion. Additionally, for situations where concrete vehicle barriers might be a consideration, the Net Fence™ can provide equal or superior security in an attractive fashion and without obstructing the line of sight. Crisp's Net Fence™ provides the same vehicle stopping security to the rest of your perimeter that our barriers and gates provide for your roadways. The Net FenceTM is of particular interest to military bases, nuclear power plants, and defense industries.

FLEXIBILITY

Net Fence™ technology can be applied to a wide range of fence styles and perimeter situations. The fence can be customized to blend with virtually any existing perimeter environment, and the number of rails can vary. Chain link fences were designed to stop people and animals, not vehicles! The Net Fence™ with chain link fences provides a complete counter intrusion system.

INSTALLATION

The steel posts are a nominal 7 feet long and set in place with concrete. Nominal post to post spacing is 10 feet - 20 feet. Installation requires boring into the subsurface to nominal depths of 5 feet. The buttresses or superposts are placed at corners and 200 feet intervals along the perimeter to give added strength and elasticity to the cable. They can also be placed in rolling terrain where the slope is greater than a 3 feet rise or fall in 100 feet. After placement the superposts will be filled with concrete.

MAINTENANCE

Because the Net Fence™ is constructed of high strength materials and is galvanized, epoxy painted or powder coated it is maintenance free.
