About Crisp Barriers, Inc.
Headquartered in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, Crisp Barriers, Inc. (CBI)
evolved from Barrier Concepts, Inc., founded by Bill Crisp in 1984.
The business operated under this structure from 1984 until 1992
at which time the name was changed to Crisp and Associates.
Also, at this time CBI aligned with the Performance Development Corporation
(PDC), where PDC became the exclusive licensee of their physical security products.
In 2006, PDC organized CBI as a wholly-owned subsidiary.
CBI was an early market leader in meeting an emerging anti-terrorism threat through
development of innovative barrier, gate, and fencing designs that are still the
hallmark of the industry. We were one of the first companies to participate in
Department of State (DOS) sanctioned vehicle crash testing. Our F10 and P10
hydraulic wedge surface barriers performed so well in the K12 crash tests
(stopping a 15,000-lb. vehicle traveling at 50 mph) that they remained fully operational
with damage only to the painted finish. This demonstrated our conservative design philosophy that
is incorporated into all of our products.
Today, our expanded product line includes over 17 physical security products.
We have hydraulic wedge barriers, horizontal beam type barriers, numerous gate styles,
fencing options, and bollards.
We specialize in custom design and manufacturing where standard industry products
cannot be installed. All of our products are designed to meet DOS crash standards.
We have the engineering infrastructure to provide creative, safe, and attractive designs for
our physical security products while not compromising the environment. We give our unconditional commitment
to customer support and satisfaction.
